A Comprehensive Control Strategy for a Push–Pull Microinverter Connected to the Grid

The effects of partial shading or dust accumulation on the panels photovoltaic systems connected to grid can generate a considerable reduction in energy performance, being necessary provide appropriate voltage regardless irradiance level. This paper addresses this problem and presents comprehensive control strategy its implementation for grid-connected microinverter composed push–pull converter followed by an H-bridge inverter. In converter, hybrid MPPT algorithm PI enable work MPP PV panel. inverter, cascade consisting predictive allows connection grid. A proof-of-concept prototype is implemented order validate proposal. Experimental tests were performed connecting panel programmable emulator check performance. Furthermore, conditions simulated dc source if global maximum power point reached. results demonstrate feasibility topology approach, obtaining performance above 99% at different levels MPPT, even presence conditions.
